  • Each lesson typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's preferences. Lessons include a balance of harp technique, repertoire building, and music theory, ensuring that students not only learn how to play but also understand the music they’re performing. Wendy tailors each lesson to suit individual needs, whether you’re a complete beginner or working towards more advanced goals.

  • Wendy offers both in-person and online lessons to accommodate all students. In-person lessons are held at her home studio in Te Atatu South, Auckland.

Online lessons are available by arrangement and are conducted via an easy-to-use platform.

  • Unsure if the harp is for you? Wendy offers trial lessons and initial consultations to help potential students get a feel for her teaching style and to discuss goals. It’s a great way to see if you’ll enjoy playing the harp before committing to regular lessons. To learn more or book a trial lesson, please reach out via email or the contact page.

  • Wendy provides all necessary learning materials, including sheet music, exercises, and practice tips to help you progress between lessons. If you're learning online, she can also share digital resources to support your practice.

Students are encouraged to have their own harp for regular practice, and Wendy can offer advice on buying or renting a harp if needed.

  • Wendy teaches students of all levels, from absolute beginners to those looking to refine their skills. Lessons are customised to help you achieve your musical goals, whether you're learning for personal enjoyment, working on advanced techniques, or preparing for exams or performances.

Wendy’s supportive and encouraging teaching style ensures students feel confident and motivated in their musical journey.

  • Lesson rates vary depending on the length of the session: $30 for a half-hour or $60 for an hour. Wendy offers flexible payment options. For more information on pricing, including any additional costs such as materials or harp rentals, please contact Wendy directly.

“Wendy teaches me online, so I don't have to add anything to my commute - which is super convenient! She’s the optimal mix of friendly and firm, and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things to do with harps and music theory.”
